Thank you for writing for me! FMA is an old favorite of mine and I'm excited about this exchange. I’ll start with general likes and DNWs, and then I’ll give some prompt ideas for each of the relationships I requested. If none of the prompts inspire you, you can make free use of my general likes! Also, I only requested fic because I'm a writer and I always think in terms of writing, so I didn't know how to ask specifically for art, but if you feel inspired by one of my ships/prompts, art treats are absolutely welcome.
General likes:
- found family/family feelings (especially with siblings)
- subtle gestures of love from closed-off characters
- characters teasing each other/banter
- characters being good at what they do
- bed sharing
- forced intimacy
- Groundhog day scenarios where the character desperately wants to do something/prevent something and gets a little crazy along the way
- AUs of all sorts: I love well thought out canon-divergent AUs, but also AUs with completely different settings, as long as the characters/story/setting reflect canon. Mundane AUs that bear no resemblance to the canon are the only exception.
- sleep deprivation
- nightmares/dreams getting confused with reality (especially magically/supernaturally induced)
- PTSD
- characters having to get out of a situation while hurt/sick/otherwise impaired
- murder mysteries/casefic
- eerie atmospheres
- UST (but I like it best when it’s understated) and pining (especially if the pining character is resigned to not getting what they want).
- kissing: tender kissing, passionate kissing, desperate kissing, rough kissing.
- touching wrists, cheeks, the nape of the neck.
- clothed sex
- non-penetrative sex
Now to the specific relationships!
Edward Elric & Alphonse Elric
Sibling relationships are my jam, so it's no surprise that they're my favorite FMA relationship. I love how they function as a team and agree on all the important stuff despite their different personalities. Anything with them goes: pre-canon fluff when they're children, especially that focuses on them learning alchemy together, pre-canon casefic/adventure when Ed has become a State Alchemist, canon-divergent AUs that play with the premise, Al-has-regained-his-body fluff...
Winry Rockbell & Edward Elric & Alphonse Elric
For them I'm especially interested in pre-canon fic that takes place after Ed had been hurt/during his recovery from automail surgery, or post-canon stuff that focuses on their dynamics after the events of canon (not interested in Ed/Winry or Al/whoever having kids fluff).
Edward Elric & Roy Mustang
What I like for them is generally at odds with how fandom write them, because I don't ship them, but I don't like Parental!Roy either. I like the belligerence mixed with mutual respect, with a side of guilt from Roy for having enrolled a twelve years old boy. Having to work together/forced to rely on each other, pre-canon or post-canon, hurt/comfort (preferably with Ed as the hurt one) would be love.
Edward Elric & Riza Hawkeye
Ed seems to have a lot of respect for Riza, but without the antagonism he shares with Mustang, and anything that has those two interact and get to know each other better is welcome.
Roy Mustang/Maes Hughes/Riza Hawkeye, Roy Mustang/Maes Hughes, Roy Mustang & Maes Hughes, Riza Hawkeye & Roy Mustang
All those relationships fall under the same umbrella of forged in fire loyalty, shared guilt, having gone through hell together. For them I would very much like either something that takes place during the Ishval War or that is related to it.
Olivier Armstrong/Roy Mustang
It's sort of a crackship, but what I want for them can be summed up in two words: hate sex. With a side of grudging mutual respect. As I said in my DNWs, I'd rather not get a PWP, so there needs to be some lead up to the sex, and the sex itself doesn't have to be super explicit, but yeah, that the basic dynamics I crave.
